no matter what they told you, you're not alone | [atrb=border,0,true]staring at herself in the mirror, she gave herself a once over; it wasn't in a vain, narcissistic way, but in a way that did hold some sort of awe. even though she had been an angel for four years, she still felt as though she didn't have the bearings that she seemed to see a lot of the supernatural beings having. even the younger ones, like herself, knew what they were doing more-so than herself. honestly, when she was first brought back, she almost didn't believe it; of course, she also couldn't believe it when she had arrived in heaven. at first, she had convinced herself that she was dreaming, that someone had found her and that she was in the hospital, in a coma or something. there had to be a reasonable explanation for all of it. however, as it slowly set in, she started to accept it and, eventually, she was back on earth, apparently doing god's work. of course, she had yet to actually enforce any sort of rule and she didn't plan on it any time soon. in fact, she had managed to make friends with a couple of hybrids, some vampires and few wolves. However, demons always seemed to rub her the wrong way; maybe it was just because of the pair of feathery wings that she had. either way, she tended to avoid pureblood demons.
running a hand through her hair, she let out a heavy sigh, knowing that she had the night off to do whatever she wished to. honestly, all she wanted to do was go to work, seeing as she knew that was where all of her friends were anyways. however, she also just wanted some time for herself. never really being a huge reader, harvey decided the best thing for her would be to just go for a walk. a long, hard walk. she knew that it could be dangerous, seeing as she could run into many things that went bump in the night, but she was an angel now and no one really ever fucked with her because of it. one of her friends, jackson, had explained a few things to her about why people left her alone. apparently angels were the ones who kept everything in check, were the ones who enforced the law. so, everyone stayed out of her way. harvey couldn't complain, she had always hated confrontation and drama.
sliding on her combat boots and leather jacket, she gave herself another once over, contemplating whether or not this outfit would be warm enough. shrugging softly, she realized that she would get warm throughout the walk, anyways. with that, she walked out of her apartment and then straight out of the building, towards the flashing lights of the small town. honestly, harvey had always loved living in norway, even though the weather was ruthless sometimes, it was a beautiful country. when she had moved to lillehammer, she knew that life would be much different than oslo. everyone seemed to know each other here and it kind of freaked her out but after four years, she had got used to it.
as she walked throughout the small town, she realized that the forest wasn't too far away and curiosity had got the best of her. changing direction, she headed towards the forest, figuring a walk through it would give her satisfaction she needed before heading back home to bed. the crunching leaves and smell of wood and pine made herself become almost immediately relaxed. she could remember always wanting to walk through the forest but always being afraid to. people had always said that there had been something strange going in those woods and harvey now knew why. she had become one of those creatures, though she wasn't the type that people feared. putting her hands into her jacket pockets, she wandered through the forest aimlessly. she knew she was probably going to get herself lost, but if worst came to worst, she could always just fly up and see where she was and which direction it was to get home. however, when she looked up through the trees and realized there was a full moon, she suddenly felt a chill run up her spine.
going stiff, she heard a growl from behind her and, as she turned around, she knew exactly what was behind her. seeing the glowing eyes and the sharp teeth, harvey gulped. she knew that she probably had the strength to beat the werewolf, but she didn't know if her nerves would let her, "uhm, good puppy dog..." she murmured to herself before she took a slow step backward. maybe a walk through the woods wasn't such a good idea, afterall.

erik had been walking around the forest for a good couple hours. he knew it wasn't the safest time of month to be out in the blackwood forest, but naturally; he found a deranged pleasure in dark and hazardous situations. he lifted his inverted cross necklace over his head and began to spin it around his index finger, sitting down in some decaying undergrowth to take a break from walking. he absentmindedly toyed with his necklace in his left hand and pulled out his phone with his right, the illuminated screen cast a soft glow onto his face as he checked for any messages. nothing.
erik sighed and put his phone back, standing up and stretching his neck. he could hear what sounded like someone transforming in the distance and he smirked. he had a strange; almost sick fascination with all the supernatural defects that had been inducted into the human race. he'd been around long enough to find it amusing. after one hundred and six years, it didn't bother him in the slightest. continuing walking, he found himself pining for his old life again. it was something he did occasionally. he thought of his parents, his old friends; the drug addiction that killed him and sent him to the underworld. it was all very distant, but was a weight that he couldn't remove from his shoulders.
he slipped his necklace back on and cleared his throat, shaking himself out of those thoughts. it was a full moon, and it was time to have some fun with the wolves. something erik enjoyed far too much doing. he cast out his wings, black and grotesque. chuckling quietly, he shot upwards to get a bird's eye view of the forest and what was going on. a growl came from his left and he slowed his wings, drifting down between the trees silently. what he saw wasn't what he expected. a girl was standing before a werewolf and erik furrowed his brows. "harvey?" he mouthed to himself. the girl he worked with was seconds away from being shredded to pieces.
quietly returning to the ground, he drew his wings in and he watched the girl from behind the trunk of a tree. "i wouldn't do that if i were you..." erik spoke to the wolf, taking slow steps toward harvey. his voice was low, the demonic growl just faintly showing. he stopped in front of her, not stopping to look at her. he narrowed his eyes at the wolf, feeling claws wrap around his voice box. "leave," he growled, a distorted shrill ringing in his voice. he turned his head slightly, whispering to the girl, "don't move."
in a swift move he lunged at the wolf and he felt the blood in his veins boil as he threw a kick into the muzzle of the wolf. with a whimper, the wolf darted into the thick darkness. he turned around and scoffed almost unbelievably at the girl. "the hell are you doing out here? are you okay?" he asked, taking slow steps toward her, hands in his pockets.

no matter what they told you, you're not alone | [atrb=border,0,true]throughout her time in lillehammer, she had begun to learn the tricks of the trade, realizing more and more just how important she was when it came down to being an angel. as said before, no one really messed with her because if it, which was always nice, seeing as harvey wasn't one for confrontation, at all. she liked things staying low down and mellow; she had always tried to cut out all of the friends that brought drama to her door step, not because she didn't like them as people, she just couldn't handle the drama that came along with the relationship. honestly, as much as she loved dating women, she hated it just as much just simply because they always over reacted. whenever she was in a relationship with a woman, she was always the man of the relationship, just simply because she acted like a man, most of the time.
now, however, she didn't feel like a man, she felt like a scared a helpless little girl who had no idea what to do. if she didn't act quickly, she knew that she would be ripped to shreds at any moment, just simply because of the fact that she was unsure of how much strength she had. harvey hadn't managed to get into any fights in her four years of becoming an angel. she had been quite proud of herself for it, but now she had wished she had got into at least one or two, if only so she could know what she was dealing with. and as the beast prowled closer and closer, harvey could only think of one thing, running away. she hadn't quite got the bearings on her wings either. she didn't know how the elder ones could just jump and they would be in the air. harvey needed at least a bit of a running start, if not a rock or something to jump off of.
just as she suspected the wolf was about to pounce, she was startled by another figure just landing in front of her. it took her a moment to realize just who it was and she was overall even more shocked than she had been before. hearing erik tell the mutt to scram, and seeing the thing actual run away with it's tail in between it's legs, harvey breathed out a sigh of relief. she looked at him for a moment before she nodded, "yeah, i'm okay." she stated before she shrugged at his previous inquiry, "I wanted to go for a walk." she added before she ran a hand through her hair and pushed it over to one shoulder, "i could ask the same thing about you, can't i?" she asked before she put her hands on her hips and looked at him. [
herself and erik never really got along at work, though she had to admit she was thankful that he had shown up when he had.

as he turned around, the girl's expression of shock slowly melted away and her usual indifferent demeanour began to shine through. they'd never really gotten along at work, and he found it ironic that the one girl he'd just saved was the one that was always taking the piss out of him at work. his tensed shoulders relaxed as she said she was okay and he brushed his hair out of his face and crossed his arms, leaning his weight on one leg.
he'd always found harvey interesting. she had this very strong front about her, especially toward him. he'd tried a couple times to find out things about her but it'd never worked. his eyes ran down her multicoloured hair as she brushed it onto a shoulder. as the girl placed her hands on her hips and threw his question back at him he scoffed and smirked at her, shaking his head slightly. erik put his hands on his hips, mirroring her before replying. "if i told you, i'd have to kill you," he spoke with heavy amusment in his voice. by the look on her face he could tell now was no time for his cocky sense of humour.
"you're welcome, by the way," he added, not being able to surpress the half grin he had pulling at his lips. he knew she had to be some sort of grateful he showed up, after all; she'd probably be dead if he hadn't. erik stretched out his neck and sighed. "it's not safe for a lil' thing like you to be out here on a full moon, you know."

no matter what they told you, you're not alone | [atrb=border,0,true]as much as she hated to admit it, she was glad that erik had shown up when he had. if he hadn't harvey would be in the fight of her life right now, trying to overtake something that she didn't really know much about. though she figured there was a high possibility that she would win, she didn't really want to chance it, if she had the choice, of course. so, erik showing up had solved all of those problems and thoughts that had been running through her head. now all she was left with was the fact that erik had now shown up and, no offence to him, but he wasn't exactly her most favourite person at the best of times. she figured it was just becauseof the fact that the two of them were opposite races, destined to butt heads whenever they could, if not get into a real fight with one another, but harvey knew that erik was harmless. or, at least, she hoped he was.
running a hand through her hair, she pushed it all to one shoulder and scoffed at him, "whatever, dude." she murmured before she adjusted her leather jacket and eyed him up and down, "i'm just going to assume you were actually doing what you were supposed to and that was keeping an eye on things." she explained before he accepted her thanks before she had even given it. that pissed her off and immediately she rolled her eyes, folding her arms over her chest before she shrugged, "yeah, i guess i should thank you, shouldn't i?" she mused before he looked up at him. god, if he wasn't so god damn beautiful she would love to just ignore him, but she couldn't. she never really could, "I can handle myself! the wolf just startled me, is all." she explained before she ran an hand through her hair and nodded softly, "he just popped out of no where and i froze." she added, trying to make him realize that she would have been fine without him, even though she truly wouldn't have been.
"don't you have a shift tonight, or something?" she asked, realizing that lately her schedule had been completely opposite of his, thus she never saw him quite as much.

his eyes trailed her up and down absentmindedly, watching her as she ran her hand through her multicoloured hair. his hair had always intrigued him, it was always changing, but it always looked great. almost instantaneously as she scoffed, his smirk grew. he kept his chiseled arms crossed firmly across his chest as she explained what he should have been doing. erik's expression remained unchanged. he knew once he'd thanked himself for her he was in for it, but she wasn't as harsh as he expected. his green eyes looked down into her blue ones and he sighed through a grinning mouth.
erik found himself taken aback a little by the sudden eye contact. it was strange looking at harvey and to have her looking back in a way that didn't say 'i want to kill you'. it was nice though, his grip on his arms loosened a little, not sure what the moment meant. sure enough it was repressed immediately by harvey pointing out his insignifigance and her ability to handle herself. he chuckled and looked to his side, and then upwards, avoiding her eyes. he waited a few seconds after she spoke for effect and looked back at her, "alright, harv. whatever you say." that stupid grin was slowly coming back.
when she asked him about his shift he shrugged at her. it would seem strange that they both had the night off seeing as they seemed to always be shifted opposite of each other. "i told them i couldn't come in tonight," erik spoke, uncrossing his arms and linking his thumbs through his beltloops, "i had to keep an eye on things. keep people like you outta trouble." erik smiled at her and stretched out his neck once again. he had taken the night off because he knew he had a duty to keep an eye on things tonight, and he'd picked up an extra shift during the week to make up for it. his tone changed slightly to a more sincere one and he tilted his head, "how've you been anyway? i haven't seen you in ages. you look good." he raised a brow at the girl.he'd be lying if he said he didn't think about her often. erik never knew why he could never get this girl out of his head, it's not like she payed him any attention. any positive attention, anyway.
