After drinking and partying for years, people would think that it would get easier. However, as Axel realized that he was getting older, the drinking and partying seemed to become harder and harder on him, not on the night of, but the day after. Even though he was a vampire, he knew that eventually he would fade away into nothing but dust. Back in his younger adult days, Axel would almost never get a hang over, he would usually be wide eyed and bushy tailed every morning, no matter what sort of things happened the night before. Now a days seemed to be a different story. As he slowly opened his eyes, he could already feel the pounding headache and the slight feeling of nausea wash over him. It had to be the tequila that had done him in, he just knew it. All too often he would find himself in a drinking competition with some of the younger men at his club, the son of a bitch. It was usually that, that did him in, in the end. Of course, Axel knew how to handle his liquor when it came to the night of, he had many a year in practice and he wasn't about to let some hot shot out drink him.
Crawling out of bed, he sat up and put his head in his hands, letting out a loud groan before he pinched the bridge of his noes. He looked over his shoulder and saw that the rest of the bed was empty, all this pain and he didn't even get a good fuck out of it. Or maybe he did? How would he ever be able to tell? Rising too his towering six foot four inch frame, he stumbled towards the bathroom, prepared to get ready to face the day. Of course, the only possible way he could do that, is if he got himself a cup of coffee. After putting on a black, long sleeved shirt and a pair of jeans, her slipped on his black, leather converse and headed out of the door. There was no way he would get anything done today without that cup of coffee.
Climbing into his car, he easily sped off in the direction of the nearest coffee house, which was obviously 'Cassidy's Cafe'. He had become quite the regular there, charming some of the baristas and always been more than polite. Parking outside of the cafe, he climbed out of his car and made a b-line straight for the door, more than ready to make his order. He stood in line patiently, knowing that it would be busy this time of the day, and, in the mean time, got out the exact change he would need for his certain cup of coffee. That was how often he came around, he knew just how much it was going to cost. When he finally reached the counter, he smiled at the barista, the girl immediately greeting him with, "The usual today, Axel?". Giving the girl a nod and a smile, he replied, "You know me too well." when he went to give the girl the change he had counted out, she explained that it was on the house today. So, instead of giving her the money, he simply put it in the tip jar; he would much rather give it to the hard working baristas, then the big shots up top.
Before long, he had his coffee in his hand and he was headed towards a seat, knowing that he wouldn't mind just having a few moments to himself before he had to go back home and get some work done. As he took a seat, he lifted the cup to his lips and took a sip before looking out of the window, not really paying attention to his surroundings at all. [/style] |

Casey was wide awake today; she felt prepared for anything. The smile that lit up her face was all too familiar to many of the locals around this area. She loved her food. That was all there was to say on the subject. Right now, though, she just wanted a Dr Pepper. That’s it. Her favorite drink. The perfect one for all times of the day. The café was just up ahead, and she skipped a little in unprecedented excitement. Her backpack bounced a little, tugging at her shoulders. Filled with a bunch of new chocolate bars, she had planned to give them out today. She certainly wasn’t going to eat them all, and her Dad and his associates hadn’t wanted to eat them at all. More for others, then!
The door to the café swung open, and she hopped over the threshold with a loud, ”Whoooo!” Some turned their heads to look, but most, when they saw who it was, only shook their heads and laughed, turning back to what they were doing. She thought she heard a “little late” being said somewhere, but she just kept smiling and walked up to the counter. The barista brought her the soda she wanted and as she handed her the change, she said, with an amused smile, ”You know, this would have to be the hundredth time I’ve told you most people buy coffee here.” Casey opened the bottle of Dr Pepper and shivered when she heard the sound it made. Fresh. And Cold. She stung her tongue out at the barista playfully. They all knew she hated coffee.
”Oh!” She paused mid-turn and swung the backpack around, setting it down at her feet. ”I brought chocolate for everyone. What kind do you like?” The barista accepted a chocolate bar with almonds, and Casey gave her a few more for workers who’d come in later. Then she started to go to different tables and see if anyone wanted chocolate. Most said no, but she half expected them to. Some people thought chocolate was terrible for you, though Casey would probably spend hours arguing the contrary. Finally, she came up to a man who was sitting alone, drinking coffee. He was a curious character, and she was sure she’d seen him some time before, but they probably just didn’t come in at the same time every day.
She walked up to the table and sat in the seat across from him, her smile still plastered on her face. But she didn’t say anything. She just crossed her arms on the table and stared, looking for his eyes, as if she was playing some sort of game.

Not only that, the morning was about the time he would fall asleep; back in the early days of his life, no one really noticed if he slept all day and came out at night. Now? That was just out of question, especially with the type of work that he was going into, he needed to be up and ready to head to meetings and all that sort of thing. God, sometimes he just absolutely hated it. Every once in a while, he would find himself sleeping all day, but then it would screw everything up and he would have to fix it back to being awake during the day. There were also times where he would wake up early and still be tired all day, even if he had slept the whole night. It was just the way that his natural instincts were - he was meant to sleep at night. Being a vampire, he knew that he wasn't a lone; a lot of the vampires now a days had become accustomed, especially the younger ones. But the older ones like himself, there was just no way that they could possibly do so; it was hard, too, seeing as he could only be out in the sun for about an hour before he found himself getting exceedingly tired.
Working at a strip club, he usually came for a majority of the night, but would leave before closing. So, if it weren't for the fact that people would get suspicious, he would gladly sleep all day just so that he would be able to stay all night and watch his gorgeous girls dance and make his money. Most of them knew what they were doing, but he would purposefully hire human girls; a vampire has got to eat. Unfortunately for him, today He was going to have a walk through of his club by the LPT, which meant Jeremiah would be there. The angel had always caused him problems.
He was just starting to think as to how he would be able to make his club look less suspicious, when he heard a loud shout. Furrowing his eyebrows, he let out a soft hiss and looked around the room. Whoever had the nerve to do such a thing was going to get a beating, or something worse. Axel didn't once lift his head to look, out of her peripherals, he could see the culprit. A human, how quaint. Keeping himself calm and collected, he let it go, knowing that the girl would probably just leave. However, when he noticed that she had sat down across the table from him, he lifted his head and looked at her, "Is there something I can help you with?" he asked politely, even though he was using much of his willpower not to strike her. Axel was not very good when it came to keeping calm, but over the years he had made it so that he could keep it in check for a while. [/style] |

She noticed the guy in front of her was holding himself back, though from what she didn’t know. More than likely, she’d annoyed him simply by sitting down at his table, and while on any normal day, she might’ve left him in peace, today she was just too curious and happy for her own good. He wouldn’t be able to spoil that for her, no matter how he looked at her. Even after he spoke, she continued to stare at him for a few more moments. Maybe it was rude, but it wasn’t exactly the first thing that came to her mind. ”You have pretty eyes,” she said, tilting her head as if to get a better look. ”Maybe if you didn’t seem so harsh, people would be able to better notice.” Teasing probably wasn’t the best idea anyone could have when meeting a man for the first time, especially someone who very likely didn’t want anything to do with your presence.
However, she did make herself stop where she was, at least on that track, if only for better manners. She pulled up her backpack and reached in to grab some of the chocolate bars. Then, she set one of each down on the table in front of the man. ”Just wanted to see if you’d like some chocolate,” she said with a slight shrug. It’d probably soften your mood, she said to herself. Maybe he didn’t like chocolate. Or, even if he did, he’d deny it. Most men with what she considered sour attitudes seemed to react that way. They were big boys. No need for chocolate or any other sweets. Well, she knew differently, and she was sure each man had something he liked that he refused to tell to anyone else. ”There’s one with a coffee kind of flavor to it. Maybe you could try it,” she suggested. Folding her arms beneath her breasts, she leaned back in the seat, never breaking eye contact.

for example, the one that was now sitting in frot of him, offering him chocolate and basically scolding him for being so harsh towards her. if she knew who or what he was, she would have avoided him completely, but wrapped up in her blissful ignorance, she came and actually tried to talk to him. axel looked at her for a moment before he took a sip of his coffee, almost wishing that it had some sort of alcohol in it just so that it would be easier to handle the peppy human. lifting an eyebrow at her, he scoffed and went back to looking out of the window, "well, i don't know you. what did you expect?" he explained before he looked back at her with irritated eyes. he was almost tempted to just get up and leave, but even he had more respect than that, even if she was a human. when she offered him chocolate, he furrowed his eyebrows together. he didn't know why but he found it offensive. he had watched her hand it out to everyoene else and she was probably just asking him to be nice, but it still pissed him off, "No. thank you." he replied before he sat back in his chair and turned his gaze towards the window once more.
